It was another great weekend, even if we got a bit of rain and the wood needed a little help from the campfire pros (blow Sandy, blow!!)

Hangin' with Camp Buddies in Dover

What a great vacation this past week.  Super hot & what better place to be but by the water and with friends.  We even managed to get away for a day & escape to Port Dover for lunch on the water & a little shopping!

We survived the crazy storms and the near miss of the tornadoes (thankfully someone up there was looking out for us at the trailer park!!)!  A great time seemed to be had by all and the new roof survived and gave us all some well needed shelter :)

Crazy Commute!

So there was a huge storm in Toronto last night - 1 month worth of rain in 1 hour.  It caused flooding everywhere causing road closures, shutting down the subway and even flooded the GO train tracks whereby people needed to be rescued from the train!  I was lucky as I was already home to celebrate Keith's birthday but the track that my train takes did sustain damage. 

To get into work today I had to take the train part of the way, 'hop' on a bus to go around the damaged track, and then get back on the train to continue the trip.  What is typically a 1 hour commute for me took 2 1/2 hours.  GO transit said the busing should be 20 extra minutes (HA!).  You would think they would have in as many extra buses, and double decker ones at that, as they could in order to manage this colossal mess and believe me, there were no where near the number of people there normally are on the trains.  OMG, I can't wait to go home!  Maybe they will have it figured out by then but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Happy B-Day Daddy O!!

It is hard to believe another year has passed already but it has.  Keith chose Mother Tucker's for his special dinner spot & enjoyed every bite!  I think we all came out of there feeling a pound or two heavier...good choice Daddy O!!

When we got home, a huge storm had come through and flooded out much of Toronto and some of the hydro transformer that powered much of Ontario.  We got to spend some quality family time together by candle light for a few hours before the lights came back on. 

Roof Raising

 Words can't tell you how happy I (we) are to have the roof up.  I know I've been harping on about it since we started camping but boy I tell you when the rain came down, we all enjoyed it being able to sit under it without getting wet.  Thanks to everyone to gave up some of their time & much of their energy to help us throw it up on Sunday.  We couldn't have done it without you.  I know we will be returning the favour to some of you :)
